Influenza in his guts and mouth,
Shotgun memories tying up his brain,
He found himself sort of heroic.

A holy martyr of the unsung,
Patron saint of the back alley,
Reincarnated long-lost venerated ancestor-god

Hidden deep in the black box
Of his mid-life crash was
A record of his unlikely annointment.

Sorry if I made it confusing, Kitch. G-Man is not my husband. I believe a beauty named Harley has his heart. PC the person who wrote this particular 55 is the hubs.

I love the line “Patron saint of the back alley.”
This is great. You and your husband can have
your own poetry slam.

Hi Belinda and talented husband,

Really great. Lines have a lot of power. I’m going to check out this friday flash site. A great skill to reduce what can be said to a few words that pack a punch.

Thanks, G.

“of his mid-life crash” – I like that description. It is word poetry indeed! What fun to have your husband guest write on your blog!

I don’t know that I could ever convince my husband to contribute to my blog. Guess I won’t know unless I ask!
