First, my sister was that gymnast - accomplished but the suddenly realized that she was missing out - cold quit and joined the soccer team. It also makes me sad because, while it's great to have the perspective, it also screams fear of failure - have a fall and suddenly lose confidence. Maybe not, but that's how I read it.
