Belinda, I feel compelled to comment in verse that ends on release, too.

True self hidden under invisible burquas. Frightened to remove. Worried about social stonings.

Easier yet harder to hide one’s desires as the years age into the future.

Childhood dreams recede into adult nightmares.

Relief comes in the form of a rogue nail that catches the ratty coverlet and sheers it in two. Woman/man escapes into the swirling dervish of release.
