Wow. This is powerful post and one I think comes from deep inside you…as if you’ve gone caving and discovered a beautiful cavern under the rocks, dirt and other debris.

Accepting our emotional selves and the emotional selves of others is always a challenge. It’s like a slot machine, every once in awhile, you’re lucky and it’s all the same fruit, but most of the time it’s a mix and we’re left trying to find the balance. Is it worth it? To me, of course it is and knowing who I am emotionally is essential to my being. I think this is true whether the person is a woman or a man. We are truly united by our emotional selves. That’s why the women in the Congo touched you so much. You understood them as women who loved, wanted, and dreamed…just like we do.

Have a good 4th of July Belinda. Remember, your work and your words enrich the lives of many:~)

Thanks for the link to the article, B. I’d heard about it but not read it. Whew! Long! Redundant! Hard to make it through all of it but I did. I think her definitions of work, feminism, and life balance are pretty narrow. I agree that it’s way, way past time to enlarge the conversation. And vaginas? Well now, here’s something interesting. Vagina-like symbols/images/shapes often show up in the process art we do in my women’s creative wisdom circle. So we love the word vagina!
