“towering brick walls” that opening line got me to consider the image in a completely different way. Brilliance in 5 syllables. The curve in the one stem and at the base gives the appearance that its grown strong braving the elements—fits the words very well. Great haiku! Cool image too.

Belinda, I adore this….it always feels like a grand miracle to me when I see what could be considered a frail plant pushing through the cement….life just wants to exist, even a tiny plant seems to have a will to live and grow. BEAUTIFUL!
