Doublespeak

The subject could be anything, really.
Taxes, marriage, insurance, you name it.
You’re thinking, “what a snooze-fest”, right?

Legislating them is a different ballgame.
Some public servants do what’s right.

Some prioritize other interests and agenda.
They speak in codes, pretending, pandering.

Amazing how speech, so simple when
we’re toddlers, becomes so convoluted in
Washington.

Ha! I scanned the QR code and have no idea what language the message is in – which perfectly speaks to your point!

As for politicians…you’re right. We never really know what they mean or if they mean what the say.

It takes courage to rise above the noise and self-interest. Last stanza was perfect. I loved it.

I think you pretty much summed it up – in a well put together way.

Namaste……….cj

Very well put. However, I’m not so sure speech is always simple for toddlers. My son really struggled to put words together in the beginning and it made me realize what some of us often take for granted.

Maybe, it’s the academic in me, but I always think that words are so open to interpretation and, therefore, misunderstanding. But I love their creativity as well!

And even when I understand the words, I’m left banging my head against the wall half the time. Ah, the beauty of our political climate…

It would seem that everything is up for debate, irrespective of the consequences. Great post!

Oh man, don’t get me started! :)

But your way with words is much lovelier than my D.C. guys speak. Have a good weekend!

I think politicians are just actors who gave up on the theatre. You know what I mean?

What might be good is if all politicans were poets — then we’d reallly see some progress!!

Can you just see Obama and Pelosi reciting poems they’d written instead of speeches!! :) :)

So very true. It seems the longer politicians stay in Washington, the more convoluted their speech (and thinking) becomes.
